Oh boy. What a treat.
We caught the Monday night Jim Gaffigan show at the Stranahan. Funny. Just so funny.
Plus I was sober. Well sort of. I had a diet coke for the first time in MONTHS (since I gave up most soda and all caffeine) but I felt like it was a special occasion and I wanted to party.
Anyway, Jim Gaffigan humor is right up my alley. He talks about food 90% of the time. I love it. I laugh so hard because I totally identify. There was also a part about overspending on wedding and how brides have to feel like a PRINCESS for the day. That also made me laugh.
The last part of his routine, and you waited for it, was the famous Hot Pocket section. I'm going to be honest - I had heard it before, but that did not stop me from laughing so hard that I was crying and borderline wetting my pants. Good thing everyone else was laughing because when I say I was laughing, I mean really laughing. Like a hyena. I was seeing stars.
He does this thing with voice that is just so damn funny. It's as if he's saying something under his breath or it's meant to be internal dialogue, but it's high pitched and just freaking hysterical. Paired with spurts of yelling and a very deep gruff voice, it perfect.
Jim, next time you come to Toledo, let me treat to you a Tony Packo's MOAD. You will love it. OR better yet, the finest food in the city, the Sundown Cantina.
