New Zodiac Sign Chart

Have you heard about this?  Last week it was all over the news, and I wanted to read up on it so I could report more accurately, but I am still confused about it (basically because I think it's all nonsense).  Apparently,

Ophiuchus is the new sign, the 13th sign of the Zodiac.

How can a new sign just get thrown into the mix and now, all of a sudden, if you were a Libra, you are now a Virgo?   It is explained in some articles that the stars are not aligned as they were 5,000 years ago.  That makes sense.  But my big question is, do the "personality" traits change with the sign change or are we all supposed to adopt new habits now?

I have never put that much stock in this stuff, but what about all those people that have really committed to it?  What about all the tattoos?

I bet this is a push for economic development in the tarot card business.  It's a good ploy too.

Did your sign change?

My sign didn't change, but it still got switched around considerably. I'm a Pisces, and the range of dates for Pisces was approximately February 18th - March 20th; now it doesn't even start until March 11th.

I know a girl who was severely injured after a balcony collapsed while she was on it. She broke her back in the accident. To cover up the scars, she got a tattoo of a crab (Cancer) on her back, with the crab amid waves; now her sign has changed to a Gemini. I wonder how she feels about this change...

I guess this thinking of a new sign has been around for a while. There are a couple different zodiac thinkings an Eastern and Western zodiac and traditionally we have been following the Western. Now someone may be trying to make a name for themselves and push the eastern following to the masses.

I thought we were grandfathered in to our old sign?

I changed, but I'm still going to call myself an Aries, if asked by some random guy at a bar (since that's about the only time signs come up in conversation).

is the new sign purposely impossible to pronouce?

Yeah, it was bullshit when I read that. I am a Taurus and I am not changing to a different stupid sign! :)

I did think that maybe it was going to change back or something like that. Who knows, but I am not changing!!
