Over the weekend.....I GOT ENGAGED! Yes, I am a betrothed lady. I know what you are thinking.....and I am thinking it too.
HOLY CRAP! HOW CRAZY IS THIS?!?! Crazy good. Crazy great. Crazy the best thing that has ever happened to me in my life. Ever.
I cannot explain how elated I am and I cannot put into words how I am feeling.
This is why I have not posted my official blog about the engagement yet. But I will. I will. I need to tell the story but it's still swimming around in my head trying to properly land itself.
Danny - you have made me the happiest girl of all time and I love you so much my heart may explode.
Thank you to my family and my future family for all the love and support you have given us. We are truly lucky. The congratulations and responses to the engagement have been also truly overwhelming. I feel loved more than ever and it's awesome in every sense of the word.
(You can't see it, but I am smiling and it's a BIG smile).

Opinions Please
Please lend me your opinions and experiences - this is the time to be long winded.
I cannot find foundation/powder that I like.
I cannot find foundation/powder that does not look orange if I have too much on.
I cannot find foundation/powder that will stay on past 11am.
Help!
I am outside quite a bit and need some help. I am not super tan but not pasty either. I am not going for the "Snookie" look but nice coverage and a clean healthy look. I'm 30, so I'm not fooling anyone either but I HATE HATE HATE caked on makeup.
I have heard about bare minerals but is it really THAT good? Is the investment worth it? Do I need the kit or just the individual pots?
Help! Thoughts?

Celebrity Workout Play list
"WORKOUT LIST OF THE STARS" caught my eye while perusing my email headlines. I checked it out and was a bit disappointed to see "celebrities" such as Vanessa Minnillo (why are you famous for dating Nick Lachey - yeah, I had to ask how to spell his name), Kara Goucher (um, who?), Jenna Fischer (I do love Pam, but I don't get inspired to work out after watching The Office), Jillan Michaels, ok VALID, but didn't know one of the songs on her play list, and finally Carrie Underwood. Here Ms. Underwood's list:

I guess it just comes down to this:
I like old shit.
I'm old.
I don't care.
Give me Metallica, G n' R, Def Leppard, and let's rock. Maybe I will add some new stuff but only if it blows my face off with a good beat. It's gotta really impress me.
I want to see James Hetfield's workout play list - I bet it's hard core as hell. I mean, does he just listen to himself alternated with his own side projects and maybe some AC/DC? It's not like he rotates a little Britney Spears in (although maybe he does, but he would NEVER admit it). I'd like to think so. How funny would it be to imagine Mr. Metallica pumping iron to "Womanizer?" I'm dying just thinking about it. He should cover that song. Now THAT'S a workout mix.
Carrie!

- Bel Biv Devoe "Poison

- David Cook "Light On
"
- Backstreet Boys "Straight Through My Heart
"
- Foo Fighters "Best of You

Storm troopers on the road
I can decide what's nerdier - the fact that this dude has this on his car or the fact that I actually got out of my car to take a photo of it.

Things that bug me
This is a post of annoyance. Please proceed if you like:
1) It's 80 degrees right now and quite humid. I was rushing around the house this morning getting ready, jumped in the car and blasted the a/c. I see my neighbor walking his dog in a FLEECE COAT. What?! That made me angry. It just did.
2) I saw an old friend from college last night. He is now married and had a kid and we had a blast catching up. He says to me, "Well you still look pretty good." Really? Pretty good? Thanks, now I can validate my life. Next time eliminate "pretty" and "still". He might have been trying to pay me a compliment but it was all in the delivery. Plus I was hot and sweaty. See a theme here?
3) Capri pants do not exist in the world of 5' tall people. I hate shorts and find them unacceptable to wear to work. However, I simply cannot find a pair of decent capris that are not either floods or booty shorts. What's the deal? Am I the only person in the world of this height? Why do I have to buy capris and get them hemmed? I'm hot.
I just need a few days off at Clark Lake....ahhhh Clark Lake!

Sawin LOGGS
Last night we attended a concert at Centennial Terrace in Sylvania. It was a great night for a concert - the rain never came and it cooled off to about 70 degrees with no humidity and no bugs. Perfect.
I have to tell you, I was so excited to see the great Kenny Loggins and had dreams of Fighter jets buzzing the tower and everybody cuttin' loose the entire time, but I should have known when we walked in and were greeted by a sea of sweater sets and pleated dockers. This was an old crowd and Kenny played his old crowd music. He should go on a strictly soundtrack tour.
Now, K-Log did sound absolutely fantastic and his band was pretty good. Seems he has not been hitting the sleaze circuit with Axl Rose and Tommy Lee and his voice and body are completely intact. Good for you Kenny. His fans love him. It was about an hour and a half of "boring-ass love music" as I call it.
Thank the makers of Muzak he ended with Danger Zone and Footloose. I was up on my feet in a flash and freakin out! Those last 4 minutes made it worth it. Nice ending Kenny!
Also, if you have not been to Centennial Terrace and Quarry since the days of high school, Ekoostik Hookah, and contract buzzes, you are in for a treat. This venue is beautiful! You can bring lawn chairs to sit on the cement, there is plenty of room to move around, the bathrooms are clean and accessible - overall great place to see a show.

Man DOWN!
The enormous statue of Jesus on the side of I-75 was struck by lightning and actually burned to the GROUND last night. Some call this statue Touch Down Jesus for obvious reasons, but I call him Big Butter Jesus from the Haywood Banks song as heard on Bob and Tom (see below). Is anyone else worried about an apolypse? Let's think about the sssssymbolism here....an enormous statue of Christ gets struck by fire and perishes? I don't know about you, but I'm gonna behave for a while....

Green Thumb Monday
This year I planted a garden with the supervision of the Mustache. Like a good little student, I have been watering every day, adding miracle grow once a week, and adding bug spray when appropriate. Look how fantastic my garden is coming along! I even picked and enjoyed fresh basil on Friday.
Also growing are pole beans, habanero peppers, jalapeno peppers, onions (not well however), dill, cucumbers, and swiss chard. Do you garden? How's it growin this year?
Basil
Cherry Tomatoes
Romaine Lettuce
Beefsteak Tomatoes
Zucchini
Roses (I can take no credit, they just came up!)

BP is for giants
Look at the height of this credit card machine. I mean, it's over my head. I realize I am only 5 foot tall but really, c'mon. I feel like Gimli.
**DISCLAIMER - I was on the turnpike near Gary, IN and did not feel like getting off and getting shot. Sorry for purchasing BP oil and offending everyone, but being alive is more important than being socially responsible sometimes.**

In honor of National Donut Day what is YOUR favorite type of donut?!
The French Crueller! I love those. They may be boring, but they are classic. I also used to love when we would get the assorted donut holes from Dunkin Donuts. Awesome. I liked the chocolate ones and the ones with coconut on them. I realize that I have just named three. You see....I am obsessed with food.
Um, what is going on with this new layout of formspring? Does it not realize I do not do well with change and get easily confused with technology?! (I guess not.) How do I ask the same question to multiple people without asking each person individually?
I am a bit confused at the moment, but I want to give it a chance. The new formspring may be excellent and we don't know it yet.
I have recently discovered that I LOVE granola. The straight out of the bag little bits of goodness that is granola. Add in raisons or dried blueberries? Oooo man, deliciousness!!! Do you like granola?
I LOVE it! I especially like it when there is dried fruit in it.
Old Wives Tale: The Camel
I have just learned that the camel does NOT carry water in it's hump. HUH! The camel, however, can drink up to 30 gallons of water at one time.
Whenever I see camels, I immediately think of the Taun-Taun from Star Wars. While their terrain and climates are different, they really are similar looking creatures. I thought they only smelled bad.....on the outside.
Click here for a news release about the seasonal camel exhibit. You may learn something new!

Bacon Balm
My sister gave me a fantastic gag gift over the weekend - bacon lip balm! I have seen this site before and was thinking, "Anything from this site would be amazing!" This balm as a smoky, plastic-y smell and is hideous. Simply hideous. It was fun to carry it all weekend and trick people. Sorry BJ, but your reaction was the absolute best.
