Nice to be home

Today I stopped at Beaner's (ok, fine Bigby) to get a nice latte to treat myself. I ordered it skinny vanilla 120 degrees, and it came out perfectly. Ahhhh. It was one of those experiences where I wanted to write the manager a thank you note....wait, maybe I will.

Dear Manager,
After living in a shit-hole hotel in Massillon trying to perform a thankless and fruitless job, my only comfort in that town was to get a latte from Panera. I tried to no avail to order a skinny vanilla latte at 120 degrees, only to have been met with either a dirty look, a confused look, and always the incorrect coffee product (usually extra hot, 2% latte, not vanilla at all). THANK YOU for having a lovely, competent staff and making my drink perfectly. I love you.

Don't look down on me, but I stop EVERY morning (Well Monday-Friday) on the way to work for coffee. I know, I can make it myself, but they have yummy flavors, and I have a punch card, so every tenth day it is free. I guess I just believe that $1.70 is worth every penny if it gives me a little boost of joy in the morning. I go to a little coffee shop called Nautica. The woman is there every morning, and knows what I like! Is this bad?

I just LOVE your witty commentary on good/bad customer service. I miss hearing it in person!!

I never realized that you could specify a temperature. That's incredible to me. That's customer service.

I am so happy that now all is right.

Note: I polled several of my Mexican national friends. They're not offended by the term, "Beaners" for a coffee place.

I had no idea that Beaners is now "Biggby." Revelations like this make it even more official that I am no longer a Toledoan. :(
