Caution: High Heels ahead

Saturday night's event was a wedding (one of many this summer). I was proud of myself for having kept on my shoes for most of the reception. Just as I couldn't take it anymore, I changed into flip flops, went back to the dance floor and was assaulted by a sky high stilletto to the second toe. Holy crap. Now, getting your foot stepped on hurts, but when it is concentrated into a small point of a spiked heel DIRECTLY onto your toe, you feel it.

And you still feel it days later. My toe might be broken and it certainly is bruised and swollen. We will chalk this one up to a "Party injury."

It sounds to me like a case of "drinker's toe." Very common for the short and uncoordinated... It just goes to show you, that you shouldn't start taking off articles of clothing randomly throughout the night. I never understood that...never had the urge to take my suit coat and shirt off because it was hot, or my pants. No shoes at a wedding, it's a classy look for girls (shaking my head left to right vigorously!)

That doesn't look so good.

Um, I know I'm going to sound like a dork for saying this, but a 125-pound woman walking in high heels has an impact of 2,000 pounds per square inch (on hardwood floors, at least). I was doing some research on how to take care of my floors and I came across that statistic. I was so impressed by it, it immediately came to mind when I thought of your poor toe getting stepped on. OUCH!

Love Libby Marie's comment about that happening to her, but her toes never looking "that swollen." Laughed for awhile...
