Happy early Birthday to me

I received an early birthday present (more than 2 months early) from my parents....a Garmin GPS. I just got it last night and am anxious to use it! I think it will be much more accurate than Mapquest or Google maps and will save me a lot of time plotting out my routes. Did you know that these things can have games on them? Does that seem dangerous to you?

Do you have a GPS? Do you like it?

Fun!!! I have heard these things are great!

We don't have one. We still do things the old fashion way. We pint directions off the computer (maybe), then we get lost and spend the rest of the car ride fighting about how to get where we need to go and whose fault it was we got lost. It is our way ;)

Games? Wha?! What kind of games?

I don't have a GPS, but I've used them and they are quite handy. I've only ever used Magellan's (Or however they are spelled), so I don't know much about the Garmin. I hope you like it!

I am getting a new car next month and have the opportunity to get a factory gps for $38 a month or buy the garmin and stick it to my dashboard for $350 total. What would Jesus do? I'm in outside sales and would use it everyday, and I hate the way the Garmin looks-like you licked it and stuck it to your car...any suggestions?

H - $38 a month seems crazy when you can do a one-time fee and deal with the lick-and-stick look.

a GPS is awesome for many reasons: it would save people from fighting about directions, saves you from being lost or dealing with dumb/incorrect Mapquest, i love mine because it gives me peace of mind. i'm VERY direction-savvy (ask anyone who knows me), but it's so pleasant. it is THE most justified invention/purchase of the 21st century...in my ever-HUMBLE opinion!
enjoy your gift - you will thank your parents over and over and over.

I don't stick mine to the dashboard, I just put in in my console - I can't look at it while i am driving....I might as well be watching TV with the Golden Girls on or something, can't keep my eyes off of it!

I have a TomTom and GPS's are great!!! Especially when you are in an area you aren't familiar with at all - you can always get home! Enjoy!

Jim and Ange are the best.

I have GPS in my car, but the only crapper is that I live on the Baja of Mexico. It doesn't work. It's just a map of the baja - nothing else.

However, we used C.'s Mom last weekend and I must agree, I still love it.

Hurley - do the $38 a month.

Two Pretz, you're the only one to tell me to spend the extra money, because I have a feeling you may have the same problem with the lick and stick gps. I'm leaning towards just saying "fuck it," and spending the extra money for something I want.

Hurley - I'm still with you. Buy it. Let us know what you decide.
