Dress Recycling

Ever feel like you buy a new dress for every occasion? I always want to get a new dress for an occasion. Somehow it feels more special if you have something new, even if it's just shoes or jewelery. The question is: How long do you have to wait until you wear the same dress again?

This is an issue that I often struggle with. It seems like the same people see you in your more formal attire. I don't think people notice what we wear like we may think, but I don't want to count on it and wear the same thing again!!

I am anxious to hear what others say. I am not sure there is a set deadline for re-wearability, but who knows. This is a serious issue. Thank you, Iris for bringing it to the attention of the blog world.

My wife wants a new dress for every wedding we attend, I believe, for the reason stated by Lauren, because we do see the same people, but honestly, I wear the same thing to every wedding and switch up ties. Girls have it rough...

I wear something again when I want to. If someone doesn't like it they can lump it.

There was a summer when I swear, 8 of my friends got married. I wore the same black dress to EVERY wedding. I loved the dress. And yes, some of the same people were at the weddings.

I say change it up with different shoes and jewelry.

If people are offended by seeing you more than once in a dress, have them call me and I'll tell them how often (or NOT often) I wash my favorite jeans.

I totally agree with Two Pretzels. Find an awesome dress or two and wear them as often as you need to. Keep them neutral and switch them up with accessories and shoes of different colors/styles.

Who cares if someone sees you in the same dress at two different weddings. Chances are, they wish they hadn't spent money on a dress they know they'll only wear one time. :)
