Day 1 Training

Thank you to everyone that wished me luck and has been supportive in my career move!

Day 1 training went very well at Village Profile's HQ in Elgin, IL. Pretty typical first day: boatload of paperwork, company office tour / meet the staff, lunch with the big guy and lots and lots of information. I am very excited and think this will be a great new job for me.

I have homework: tonight I have to fold and unfold a map 100 times so as to become an expert. I suppose a sales person selling maps should be able to properly work a map. Those things are tricky.

But you have to admit - that's kind of fun homework compared to what we used to have to do!

I'm so glad you had a good first day and that you think you will like the job (PS - We DEFINITELY do care).

I miss you Iris and I'm sending happy and successful thoughts your way all day today!

Glad to hear all is going well. I miss you and hearing your laugh. When you have mastered the secret of the map pass it along! Crumpling it up in a ball is hard to store!

Ok, now this new job with all of its map-folding isn't going to affect your ability to blog is it?

Are there people having trouble folding and unfolding maps?!? This is a disorder I have not yet heard of. I would have brought the map in all fucked up and torn, and pulled it out of your purse and said "after the 4th try, I got really frustrated and had to go out for a drink...can I have a new map, I took my medication today, so I should be fine." You know, just to see how committed they are to you working there.

I'm so glad that you're enjoying yourself so far!

I've always had problems folding maps, so that's why I love those laminated maps. They are amazing!
