Pork Chops for Breakfast and other Leftover stories

I have never felt limited to "breakfast foods" for breakfast. For some, cereal, toast, yogurt are staples for breakfast and they would not stray. While I enjoy breakfast fare, I cannot be confined to that menu and often find myself eating last night's dinner for breakfast.

Impractical Shoes and I were talking the other day and she finds myself and most members of my family absolutely revolting because we tend towards a non-traditional AM meal.

Iris: "So, you've never sat at the dinner table thinking, MAN this will be good left over for breakfast?"
Shoes: "BARF! YOU GUYS ARE SICK!"

What do you eat for breakfast?

I feel like you can have whatever for breakfast, no restrictions! Maybe that is because I don't really care for most breakfast foods on a regular basis. But if you want leftover pasta for breakfast, then why not?!?! You will actually have more time to digest and burn off that type of food since you are eating in the morning rather than at night.

I am not much of a breakfast food lover anyways. I mean I LOVE cereal, bagels and toast, (though not necessarily just for breakfast) but when it comes to things like pancakes, waffles, eggs, etc... I usually only get a craving for that type of food a few times a year. And when I do eat that stuff it is for brunch or dinner, NOT breakfast.

My typical breakfast is coffee and some type of granola bar.

Usually, if I even have leftovers, I am looking so forward to eating them that they don't make it past 10AM. When I do eat actual "breakfast foods," I usually do so for dinner. Waffles and pancakes and bacon and eggs are too heavy first thing in the morning. But I do like fruit in the A.M. And cold pizza. (The food, not the morning sports show.)

I hate milk and cooking in the morning, so I'm a big fan of leftovers. Whatever I can grab cold (like pizza, yum!) or throw in the microwave for a minute or two.

When I was a reporter, I had to be at work at 6 a.m. so my daily breakfast consisted of a can of Dr. Pepper and peanut M&Ms. (I miss those days!)

Every once in awhile, I like breakfast for dinner. So, I guess, anything goes for me.

I will eat a chop or a steak in the morning...oh yeah. Yeaterday, I had Tuna Noodle Casserole for breakfast...I wouldn't touch that shit at night, but if you have all day to burn it off, I say go for it. Today I would've had Filet, but I ate it last night at 11:00. I think a few days back, I had Broccoli and my wife's leftover steak for breakfast...I don't think it's sick, I do however, think it is lazy, and that's me!

If I eat breakfast, it usually consists of lunch-type foods (since I usually don't eat until the afternoon anyway). In fact, last night I had Brenner (Breakfast for Dinner)!

You can almost always count on me eating leftovers for dinner. This morning...a slice of leftover meatloaf.

I do love cereal, and I like eggs and stuff like that, but I'll eat them for dinner. Food is food. I just eat what I want when I feel like eating it, regardless of the lable.

I can not believe that I am the ONLY one that thinks this is completely revolting!

I usually do cereal for breakfast, only because it if fast and easy. I don't mind eating anything at all though. I once went on a rant to my mom. We were getting tacos and she was like "really for breakfast?" I asked who made up the rules that you had to eat eggs, or cereal for breakfast?

I agree with you impractical shoes! I couldn't handle eating leftover Chinese food or tuna casserole for breakfast. Ew! My stomach isn't ready for that type of food early in the morning, it needs time to wake up too. It wants oatmeal or a granola bar and it definitely wants its cup of coffee!

I am totally with you, Iris! I would MUCH rather eat dinner leftovers for breakfast than "traditional" breakfast food. Sorry Impractical Shoes!

Ooooo... gross. I'm with you Impractical Shoes and Mrs. D. I think it is really gross to eat leftovers for breakfast. I can hardly stand to see my hubby eat cold pizza for breakfast.

When I was pregnant it literally made me throw up at least once.

Bleh.

Oh ya, and I normally have a bowl of cereal and fruit or a meal replacement bar and fruit.

I used to make fruit smoothies which rocked! I should start doing that again...

I'm totally with shoes, dinner for breakfast makes me want to vomit!!
Grossness. My typical breakfast is a south beach breakfast bar and a McD's diet coke. yum! I cant even fathom metloaf that early in the morning.
Now, brenner (nice lingo panda!) is something different. I'm a fan of that.
Maybe it has something with being an anti-am person?
