Grand Canyon Skywalk

Grand Canyon Skywalk: As if the experience of the Grand Canyon is not breath-taking enough, this new tourist attraction lets you walk out over top of the Canyon via this walkway. The Skywalk is a glass bridge that is suspended 4,000 feet above the Colorado River over the Grand Canyon. The tech specs for the bridge are amazing: it is strong enough to hold a 747 and can withstand up to a 8.0 earthquake! Check out the site for more info and pictures.

Would you walk out on this bridge? Would it freak you out?

um, that would be a big HELL NO!!!

I HATE heights and I don't do well standing on balconies let alone that thing. I get the idea, it is far down I don't need to see it to know that.

Yeah, it opened a year ago, thanks for the "news"...also, it costs a fortune, you can't take your own camera on the bridge, because they make you pay for the picture they take for you, and you have to wear these hospital shoes so you don't scratch the plastic/glass. I'd rather rent a helicopter...

Question, do you think it could withstand a 6.5 quake while holding the weight of a 747, or is it an either or?

Not a chance. It would take a LARGE sum of money.

I would totally do this. A couple years ago, I saw the plans for this online somewhere, and it was supposed to be an enclosed walkway. I'm surprised that they did made it open. But I would still do it.
