The Melting Pot

Have you ever been to The Melting Pot? I had the pleasure the other night in downtown Chicago. The restaurant is decorated very nicely; the fountain at the entrance is pots (pictures posted soon).

The actual table has a heat plate built into it so the pot sits on the table. First course was fiesta cheese fondue that came with dipping materials (misc. bread cubes, veggies, tortilla chips). Second course was salads, I had spinach, he had Caesar. Third course was the meat. You pick your cooking style so you can cook the meat in broth or oil. The broth we picked was MOJO and was chicken based flavored with citrus and lime. It was amazing! The meats were bite sized delicious - chicken, shrimp, beef, filet Mignon, some seasoned, some not. To finish, dessert fondue! We picked the Turtle Flambe which was milk chocolate with caramel and pecans, flambeed table side. The side plate was loaded with strawberries, bananas, cherries, cheesecake, brownies, marshmallows, and rice krispie treats.

I would HIGHLY recommend going to The Melting Pot if you are looking to have a fun date night or spend an entertaining evening. I really enjoy interactive dining and this fits the bill. Pricey, but great for a special occasion.

Check out the menu! They have so many options from which to choose and I did hear a rumor that there is one opening in Toledo in the near future.

Love it!

The one in Toledo is supposed to be opening this spring. It's going in the building where Styx was.

Not big into fondue, but it sounds good. Glad you had a good time in Chicago.

Hey, at restaurant.com they have a coupon for Mano's, don't know if you like the place or not, but it's a $25 coupon for $10 and if you type in the code bradsdeals in the code box you save 50%, so it's $25 for $5.

This sounds SO yummy but my husband and not too many of my family members are interested in this :(

I mentioned it as a possible place to go this weekend and there was silence...FINE, I get it! I will have to wait till I can go with some girlfriends, though I wish Terry would want to go.

Ryan and I, along with MD (1 & 2) and a couple other friends went there for MD2's birthday last summer.

It was yummy, yummy, and so much fun! I just wish it weren't quite so expensive!

(we had the cookies & cream dessert, it was AWESOME!)

I was rereading this post, and the pictures you posted make this place look gross...but we have had one in beachwood forever, and I have never been, but I'm going to check it out in a few weeks. I'll let you know what I think. They may or may not be very angry with your promotion of their restaurant...
