iStik

Featured last night on The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch was Alisa Huber, creator of the product iStik. If you have never watched this show, it highlights a person's creation and their road to success with their particular product.

I just had to share this product with you because I think it is fantastic. The iStik is a magnetic device that secures your iPod to any article of clothing so while you workout, you don't need an armband (retailing at $29.99). The iStik is a series of really, really strong magnets that will hold together through fabric. The model on the show even did several cartwheels so show the intensity of the magnets. They have their own blog; check it out here at Planet iStik.

On Donny's panel was Mike Rowe of Dirty Jobs! Love that show and love Mike! The other panelist was Nicole Goldman (she created a product called Strap Tamers) and she made me laugh because one of her critiques was that she didn't like products that are misspelled.

Verdict from me...iLikeit.

That is so cool! I hate that if I run or work on lifting machines, I have to hold onto my Zune (my iPod broke awhile back). I wonder if they work on Zunes as well?

It's kind of like the POP Swatch Watch from 6th grade...remember that. It was a clip that went through clothing though, not a magnet. You find the coolest stuff (sarcastic.)

I'm Noel Goldman, creator of Strap Tamers, and am the panelist who reviewed iStik on "The Big Idea" last night. Though I said I don't like misspelled words in product names, because it makes it so much harder for customers to "Google" a product, I also said I loved iStik. I absolutely think it is "A Big Idea". :)

Thank you Noel! Happy to have your comments (and total clarification). Do you have a blog?

Noel goldman is a little self-obsessed...although she does not have a blog that I know of, she has a google alert for her name and probably the words Strap Tamers, which without knowing anything about the product sounds like something you would use in an S&M beating/loving session. Your next brain busting invention should involve how to stay on top of peoples thoughts without appearing insanely desperate...that will be "A BIG IDEA" :O

Your blog says "Nicole Goldman" but she posted as Noel... Little confused but in any case, I wouldn't name a product "Strap Tamers" because at first glance, I thought it said TRAMP STAMP! LOL

Good call Mike...I think we have all been a little confused by Iris's disregard for details. The difference between Nicole and Noel is HUGE, and musn't be overlooked. Please correct this, as it is giving me nocturnal emissions (that means nightmares, right?)

UH, her name is listed as NICOLE on Donny Deutsch's website, so kiss my ass Hurley. I have no idea why she posted as NOEL unless someone is playing a joke on me (and I did think that, Hurley, and I thought it was you).

I think somebody needs a nap! Let's all take a deep breath and count to...one thousand.

Hi Iris!

Thanks so much for putting out the word about iStik. We have had such a great response and things have just been crazy since the show. You rock! And by the way, Noel Goldman of Strap Tamers, is running a very successful, multi-million dollar company (Mike and Hurley). I'm sure you two are doing something just as remarkable that gives you the right to put her down (sarcastic...) Considering you most likely know nothing about wearing a bra, I would stik to critiquing things you actually have experience with. She's one of the nicest women you'll ever meet.

Yes! Love iStik! Can't wait to get one!

Thank you for your comments and visiting my blog; I will be following your success.

Hey iStik, calm down! Just having a little fun on a blog...no harm meant. I'm sure Noel Goldman's bra empire can take the taunting of someone who is running their own successful overreacting recognition company, as I am. Furthermore, the right to put someone down is for everyone, not just people who sell bra straps. Instead of policing Blogs, Stik (pun intended) to what you know best, which is finding new ways to use something that someone else discovered 2600 years ago.

One more thing...for Iris. The line where you said "I will be following your success," made me so sick, I had to take a half day and go home and drown my brain with alcohol to forget that I even read that. I can see ass kissing someone famous like Burt Reynolds, but kissing the guys ass that put a magnet on an iPod is one step above kissing the ass of the guy that started putting lemon in our waters at restaurants.
