Arena Project

Here are the latest pictures of Toledo's new arena:

Other favorite Christmas Covers

Little Drummer Boy by Bob Seger

O Holy Night by Josh Groban

Do You Hear What I Hear by Whitney Houston

I hate to admit it but...

I really like Mariah Carey's Christmas music (specifically 'All I want for Christmas is you'). Maybe it is because her voice is SO AMAZING and her regular music is so crappy, but when she sings Christmas songs, it fills me with joy.

Who is your favorite singer to cover Christmas songs?

Black Friday

Are you going out shopping the day after Thanksgiving? I had considered it only slightly, but when I saw this posted in Starbucks: "Open at 3:30 AM on Black Friday!" I quickly decided against it.

3:30 AM? What happened to going to Taco Bell late at night?

Wow. Also, this perked my interest as to why Black Friday is called "Black Friday." From several sources, it seems that this crazy shopping day is named because it is a day that retailers are always in the black, or making a profit. Happy Thanksgiving!

What eye learned today

This morning I visited the eye doc, forgetting that they dilate my pupils and I can't read for a while afterwards. I asked how long that takes to wear off and the doctor replied that it is usually about 1-4 hours. He also said that it depends on the color (specifically the darkness) of your iris. The darker your eyes, the quicker the dilating medicine will wear off and your vision will go back to normal. Thankful for brown eyes today!
PS My vision was back to normal in about 1.5 hours.

When you're here, you're stuffed

The Olive Garden is ALWAYS busy and I know is amazing every time. We ventured there yesterday for lunch and there was a 1/2 hour wait...for lunch!! Those folks at the OG really know how to do it though. The trip is worth is for the salad and bread sticks alone.

What is your favorite OG dish?

SPAM on Blogger!

I received a SPAM post the other day! Has anyone else been getting these?
I don't even know what language this is.

What are you looking at, Peckerhead?

The Mud Hens are seriously considering naming their Arena Football team The Woodpeckers. Pecker? Peckerhead? Read full article here.

C'mon Toledo. We are on the right track with a new arena. Don't name the team the Peckerheads! You might as well call them The Renobs or The Fartknockers. C'mon.

Prison Break

Does anyone watch Prison Break? I love this show but last night was the last episode until the SAME SEASON! The show totally loses momentum in that many months and it makes me really mad. The same thing happened last year. Sigh.

Gandalf must've worked his magic...

The hobbit name generator is working again!
Let's all have some longbottom leaf!

Leave-in Conditioner is a Marketing Ploy

I have discovered that leave-in conditioner is a total waste of money and just another product that beauty product companies package all fancy and make you feel like you need it.

Here is what I do: while my hair is still wet after the shower, I put just a little bit of just regular conditioner through my hair and don't rinse it out. It really makes my hair shinier and softer. This is fantastic for curly hair. Try it and let me know what you think.

Latte drinkers....

Starbucks nation. Starbucks is taking over the world. Who pays $3.57 for COFFEE? Blah blah. I know it. But I like lattes when it gets cold (especially Pumpkin Spice and Gingerbread) and I don't care.

If you are like me, you order your coffee and have to wait 30 minutes to drink it because it is FLAMING hot.

I discovered that if you order your drink NOT HOT or 120 (as in 120 degrees) it is perfectly drinkable right away. At Beaners (or Bigby as it is now called) you order it not hot, and at Starbucks you get it 120 (one twenty).

This was the most exciting discovery of the fall season for me if not in all of 2007. Side note: the REAL temperature of lattes is 180 degrees. Yikes.

Tom Cruise has a rug...but I still love him

I know he is a couch jumping ego-maniac with some way alternative views and methods but I still love him. He will always be Maverick to me.

Here are some shots from his movie premier Lions for Lambs (which, for the record, I think will be stellar). I think he had some work done, and not that I CARE but doesn't his hair line look strange?

Tom, let's face it, you're not going to be happy unless you're going "mach 2 with your hair on fire" and this rug doesn't look like it would hold up in that kind of dog fight.

He fights authority...

Tonight, live at the SeaGate Centre, John Cougar, er John Mellencamp! Wait, John Cougar Mellencamp! Whatever, just play Jack and Diane...
